Frequently Asked Questions.

About Counseling

  • I accept the following insurance providers:

  • Sessions are $150 for 50 minutes. Payment is collected at the time of service — if you have questions about fees or need to discuss financial considerations, please don't hesitate to bring it up. I want this process to feel as accessible as possible.

  • I'm licensed to practice in Oregon and currently accepting clients located in the state.

  • I'd love to hear from you. You can reach out through the "Let's Connect" link to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. This is a relaxed, no-pressure conversation where we can talk about what you're looking for and get a sense of whether we're a good fit. If it feels right, we can schedule your first session from there.

  • Life happens, and I understand that. Please do your best to provide 48 hours' notice for cancellations so that I may offer the time to another client. Late cancellations may result in a charge for the reserved session, though exceptions are always made for illness and emergencies.

  • Most clients begin with weekly sessions. Meeting consistently early on helps us build trust, find our footing, and create a reliable space where real reflection and growth can take root.

Over time, we may transition to biweekly sessions as things begin to settle and integrate. Some clients also return periodically for support during life transitions or more challenging seasons.

There's no one-size-fits-all answer here — together, we'll find a rhythm that feels genuinely supportive and right for you.

  • Therapy with me is a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where you're welcome to show up exactly as you are. I draw from talk, somatic, and relational approaches to support insight, healing, and meaningful change — always at a pace that feels right for you. Over time, many clients find themselves moving through life with greater clarity, self-trust, and a deeper sense of ease and authenticity.

  • No, I don't prescribe medication — as a licensed therapist, my focus is on supporting your mental and emotional wellbeing through psychotherapy. That said, if medication ever becomes part of your care, I'm happy to help you explore your options and connect with a trusted prescribing provider. With your consent, I can also collaborate with them directly to make sure your care feels cohesive and well-supported every step of the way.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

  • Ketamine-Assisted Therapy is a therapeutic approach that incorporates the use of psychedelic medicine to support and deepen the psychotherapeutic process. Ketamine, a dissociative anesthetic, facilitates a non-ordinary state of consciousness—a shift in perception, thought, and awareness that differs from everyday experience. Research suggests that ketamine may promote neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to reorganize and form new neural connections, while also helping to reduce emotional rigidity and avoidance patterns, making it a powerful catalyst for psychological healing.

  • Preparation sessions are a vital part of the therapeutic process. They provide a space to explore your concerns, clarify your needs and expectations, and set clear intentions for the upcoming medicine journey. These sessions also help establish a strong therapeutic alliance and a foundation of safety and trust between client and therapist.

Integration sessions occur between Ketamine dosing sessions and are just as essential as the medicine experiences themselves. Integration is the process of making meaning—reflecting on the insights, emotions, and sensations that emerged during the non-ordinary state of consciousness. It is through integration that the experience is woven into everyday life, supporting lasting growth and transformation. These sessions offer the opportunity to process what was seen, heard, and felt, and to apply those insights in a grounded, embodied way—moving toward greater wholeness and well-being.

  • Most clients find the medicine experience to be pleasant, with effects lasting approximately 45 minutes. During this time, you may feel a sense of distance from your body and experience shifts in perception that can feel expansive or profound. Because motor and verbal abilities are temporarily reduced, you’ll be lying down in a comfortable, supported position throughout the session.

Once the effects begin to subside, we’ll use the remaining time to reflect on and process your experience together. While it can sometimes be challenging to put the experience into words, many clients report that the insights gained feel clear and meaningful. Research suggests that the mood-enhancing and neuroplastic benefits of Ketamine can last up to two weeks following a session.

  • I remain present with you for the entire duration of your Ketamine journey for safety and support, either virtually or in-person.

  • I am more than happy to collaborate with your existing therapist and work together as a team. I could see you for preparation sessions and the medicine session. You are more than welcome to do your integration sessions with your own therapist.

  • Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a relational psychotherapeutic process. In order to qualify for KAP, the client must be committed to working towards mental health treatment goals and must be open to a collaborative process.

  • Yes. I provide psychedelic integration therapy for people already using psychedelics for their own healing and looking to weave this into their treatment. I can also assist you in preparation for retreats or ceremonies and provide aftercare on your return. Preparation and integration is the best way to ensure long-last outcomes post ceremonies.

  • We start by scheduling a discovery call to explore your needs. If it feels like a right fit for you, we proceed to an initial consultation in person or via Zoom. If KAP is indicated for treatment, you will be referred to Journey Clinical for a medical assessment. If determined eligible by Journey Clinical, you will be prescribed enough medicine for about 2-3 KAP sessions.

After 2-3 KAP sessions, we will be able to determine if KAP is right for you. If you choose to proceed with a full protocol (6-8 KAP sessions), you can schedule a follow up with Journey Clinical, and you will be prescribed enough medication to complete the rest of the protocol.

  • Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) is increasingly recognized as a powerful approach for treating mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and more. Early research suggests that when couples incorporate ketamine into their therapeutic work, they may experience stronger connection, clearer communication, and deeper emotional understanding. Many couples face entrenched patterns of communication breakdown, emotional disconnection, and unresolved conflicts—challenges that can be difficult to overcome with traditional therapy alone. KAP offers a promising path to break through these barriers and foster meaningful healing together.

  • I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not work directly with insurance panels. This choice allows me to offer greater flexibility in treatment, protect your privacy, and avoid spending significant time on administrative tasks that take away from clinical care. Additionally, most insurance plans do not cover Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP).

However, I can provide you with a monthly superbill—an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. If you'd like to explore this option, it’s a good idea to contact your insurance company in advance. When you call the number on the back of your insurance card, consider asking the following:

    • What percentage of out-of-network psychotherapy sessions is reimbursed?
(Use CPT code 90834 for a 45–50 minute session)

    • Is there a limit on the number of sessions covered per calendar year?

    • Do I need to meet a deductible before receiving reimbursement?

    • Is preauthorization or a referral from my primary care provider required?

A note about insurance and privacy:
Information shared with insurance companies becomes part of your permanent medical record, including any mental health diagnoses. Some individuals prefer not to have this information recorded. If needed, I can issue a superbill without a diagnostic code to support your privacy.

  • Please provide 48-hour notice for cancellations so that I may offer the time slot to another client. Otherwise, you may be financially responsible for your reserved time.  Exceptions are made due to illness and emergency.

  • I reserve a limited number of reduced-rate spaces for individuals experiencing financial hardship who feel called to this work. Please reach out to inquire about current availability.
